Approach to Therapy:
Making the decision to begin therapy can be a daunting experience, and I understand the importance of creating a space that fosters safety, self-expression, and an authentic connection. Therapy is where we can grieve painful events and celebrate positive ones, and I welcome the full range of human experiences and emotions into the counseling space. By exploring your inner world, your past, and the outer systems that shaped them, we can gently begin to create understanding and change. I value a collaborative, interactive approach and utilize a range of modalities to best fit a person’s unique needs and interests. This can include internal family systems, cognitive approaches, and experiential modalities.
Clinical Interests:
Being a therapist is not just my profession but my passion. I enjoy working with adults experiencing a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, complex trauma, self-worth and self-esteem, family of origin wounds, relationship issues, gender or identity exploration, and life transitions. I am also interested in working with couples or dyads looking to reduce conflict and gain a deeper understanding of their relational and communication patterns.
Education and Training:
My academic journey includes a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from DePaul University, a Master’s in Women’s Studies and Gender Studies, and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago. I have also undergone training in trauma-informed practices and am currently pursuing a certificate in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) from the Medical University of South Carolina. As a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), I am committed to upholding the highest standards of professional practice, ensuring that you receive the best care possible.
Three things I love:
Fantasy novels, french fries, and horror movies
