Approach to Therapy:
Life can feel hard. And though so many of our struggles are not unique to us, we can feel alone in them.
In therapy, I’ll work to ease that sense of isolation. I’ll provide you with a supportive, caring space—a space for you to take time for yourself and become more aware of your truth.
Perhaps you have rarely had this kind of space—but all of us need it. Once you have it, you may discover a great capacity for healing that already exists within you.
You might find you are able to shift some of your oldest patterns, deepen your self-compassion, and release some of the pain, rage, or grief you are holding.
My style is genuine, compassionate, and collaborative. Reaching out to a therapist is both vulnerable and brave. It is an honor to do this work, and I am mindful of the trust you’ll place in me if we work together.
Clinical Interests:
I enjoy working with people experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, and Complex PTSD. I also enjoy working with people who are pregnant or postpartum. I’ll bring my honest self to our sessions, ready to listen and accept you just as you are today.
My approach is trauma-informed. I draw techniques and methods from Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory, Somatic Therapy, and EMDR.
I am an LGBTQ+ affirming provider, and strive to make therapy sessions with me a safe experience for people of all races, genders, identities, and cultures.
Education and Training:
I am board-certified, Licensed Professional Counselor in Illinois. I completed a Masters in Individual Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University, and am trained in EMDR therapy. I have a BA from Macalester College in Humanities, Media & Cultural Studies, and an MEd from Depaul University.
3 Things I Love:
I love art, Soul and R&B music, and a good plunge in Lake Michigan.
